Take a peek at some cool classroom activities that Tegu has developed over the years.
This month we want to highlight the educational aspect of Tegu Blocks and how it supports a child's development over time.

Tegu blocks are great for imaginative play! Encourage children to build the worlds they see in their minds; from ocean wonderlands to jungles full of colourful creatures, to theme parks with roller coasters and games. Creating from an idea or vision is a building challenge that gives children the opportunity for self-expression, creativity, problem-solving, and improves their mathematical skill development.

ACTIVITY:
Have children build individually or in pairs at a table. Give each child a set amount of blocks to build with.

Then ask... What can you build with these shapes?
• 4 long planks & 6 cubes
• 4 short planks, 2 wheels, 4 cubes, and 2 long planks
• 4 Long columns, 4 medium columns, 4 cubes & 4 short planks
• Have the children choose 10 pieces to build with
Learning Objective:
This activity develops cognitive thinking, conflict-resolution skills, mathematical concepts (sorting, patterning, shape recognition, sizing), creative play, hand-eye coordination, and cooperative play. Whether building flat on the table or standing vertically, this challenge gives children the opportunity to develop cognitive reasoning and problem solving using a limited number of blocks and shapes.
